Unreal Tournament Map

A competitive Capture the Flag map for Unreal Tournament 4.

Map Iteration

The map design for this level took many forms and changed a lot, both in the pen-and-paper stages and in engine. I spent much of the iteration process removing brutal chokepoints and exploitable sniping spots. The map instead forces players to face each other on a more even battlefield regardless of their choice in weaponry.

Level Design

I made sure the map was easy to navigate and that the architecture remained largely believable. The map design gives both teams a symmetrical and fair start and end point. This was my first attempt at meshing and lighting a level using Unreal Engine and I am very proud of the results.

QA Testing

In the final stages of the maps development, the map was tested vigorously by myself and peers. The map was tested to work with both AI pathing and in multiplayer. Testers provided feedback that was then used to improve upon the map design.
